Frequently Asked Questions

This is a list of my most commonly asked questions, however please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions. 

How can I schedule with you? 

 

Scheduling with me is super easy because you have options. Click any “Schedule Now” button on the website and it will bring you to my calendar to schedule a phone consultation.  I will text you to confirm and call you at our scheduled time.  You can also text or call my number 813-575-0931 or send me an email at courtney.coastalsouls@gmail.com

 

 

What is a phone consultation and why do I need one? 

 

A phone consultation is a completely free and no commitment required time for both of us to get to know each other.  I will ask you some questions like what you want to work on in therapy and if you’ve had experience with therapy in the past.  I’ll also give you time to ask me questions. These are important because they give me some information to determine if I’m the best person to help you and that you want to work with me before there’s any commitment or signatures. 

 

 

What if I don’t see my insurance listed?

 

If your insurance isn’t listed, please reach out anyway! I may be waiting for my approval for it or we can discuss self pay or sliding scale options for you.  

 

 

What if I don’t want to use my insurance? 

 

Using your insurance is completely your choice. I will honor your decision and review self pay rates or sliding scale options depending on the type of therapy you are requesting and how often. Insurance use is not required!

 

 

How often do I come to therapy? 

 

At your initial session we will use a couple of minutes for me to share my recommendations for you.  Most often clients with me begin at a weekly or biweekly pace. It will be a collaboration between the two of us on your frequency. 

 

 

What can I do if my current appointment day, time, or location no longer works for me?

 

If something in your schedule changes please let me know. I am flexible in making changes when I have some advance notice.  My current availability can always be viewed by clicking any scheduling button on this site. 

 

 

What happens when I experience an emergency? 

 

It is best to text or call me with emergencies as I will see them first.  I do offer crisis counseling on an as needed basis.  These crisis sessions are self-pay only.  30 minutes is $75 and 60 minutes is $150. 

 

 

When is the cutoff for cancelling my session? 

 

If you are going to cancel a session it must be cancelled before 24 hours.  If your appointment is on a Thursday at 3pm it must be cancelled by Wednesday at 3pm or it will result in a late cancellation fee.  You will be charged $100 for a late cancellation. 

 

 

What will me initial session be like? 

 

Initial session will include us going over the paperwork you’ve filled out for me to review and setting goals for your future sessions. It’s comfortable, conversational, and for both of us to get on the same page.
