Sex/Porn Addiction

Sex and pornography addiction—often experienced as compulsive sexual behaviors—can leave people feeling trapped in cycles of secrecy, shame, and loss of control. Many individuals find themselves turning to sexual behaviors or pornography to cope with stress, loneliness, trauma, or difficult emotions. While these behaviors may offer temporary relief, they often create deeper challenges in relationships, intimacy, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing. Therapy offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about these struggles and begin understanding the patterns that keep the cycle going.
In our work together, we focus on building awareness of triggers, underlying emotional needs, and the role these behaviors may be playing in your life. I help clients develop practical tools to manage urges, strengthen boundaries, and learn healthier ways to cope with distress. We also explore how compulsive sexual behaviors may be connected to past experiences, trauma, or attachment wounds, allowing for deeper healing rather than simply trying to “white-knuckle” change.
Recovery is not about shame or punishment—it’s about reclaiming control, rebuilding trust with yourself and others, and creating a more authentic relationship with intimacy and connection. With compassionate support and evidence-based strategies, many clients begin to experience greater self-awareness, improved relationships, and a renewed sense of freedom from behaviors that once felt impossible to change.
